I have a yankee uniform I acquired in the mid-80's. It appears to be authentic, but how can I tell? The pants have a sewn in label that reads "O'Berry 84 1 26" I presume that is Mike O'Berry, catcher, who played in 1984 and wore uniform number 58. What do the other numbers mean? The pants also have the data "4 HOP" written quite large in magic marker on the inside waist band. Any idea what that means? The jersey is a home jersey with number 76 on the back and bearing a black armband on the left sleeve. I don't believe that 76 ever appeared in the majors. However it must have been worn in the minors and in training camp in the early 80's. Any clues as to who might have been the wearer(s)?
